Google’s $10 Million Dollar Idea Contest
Got an idea that could change the world, or at least help a lot of people? Google wants to hear from you — and they’ll pay as much as $10 million to make your idea a reality.
Google Inc. will award $10 million to solicit ideas it believes could benefit the world.
To help celebrate its 10th birthday, the ambitious Internet giant is launching an initiative to solicit, and bankroll, fresh ideas it believes could have broad and beneficial impact on people’s lives.
Called Project 10^100 (pronounced “10 to the 100th”), Google’s initiative will seek input from the public and a panel of judges in choosing up to five winning ideas, to be announced in February.
Google announced the project live on CNN on Wednesday morning.
“These ideas can be big or small, technology-driven or brilliantly simple — but they need to have impact,” said Google in a press release. “We know there are countless brilliant ideas that need funding and support to come to fruition.”
Ideas such as the Hippo Water Roller, which Google cited as the kind of concept the company would be interested in rewarding. Developed in Africa, where it is most used, the Hippo Water Roller is a barrel-shaped container, attached to a handle, that holds 24 gallons of water and can be rolled with little effort, like a wheelbarrow, making it easier for villagers on foot to transport critically needed fresh water to their homes.

hi i would like to know how many ideas can one person enter into the contest.
ok i see lets make a device that could monitor the hiv and aids infected cases around the world that people would come out and deal with with out hideing and cause more infections and even haveing a simple test by your bedside or that could be bought at your local drug store or be provided by the cumminty health centers lets keep them as close to us as we keep condoms if they already have them to take your test at some places in 20 minutes lets make something like thats avalible by tha bedside to help and stop the spread of new cases of hiv and aids around the world lets give our self a chance 2008 and beyond lets make a change that we badly need more then anything in the world next to food and shelter every day thousands if not millions are meeting there death to this disease and with the rite push and support we can start to make this disease in to a cold if we nip in the butt we have to start some where and the time is now with contest like these it brings out the best in one hopeing to make that chage that can one day be the reason for helping change the world thank you for your time
During these trying times when so much horror and poverty and sickness and homelessness etc…exists…I have a simple thought that could forever change the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA…And then the world if implemented correctly…HERE IS A SOLUTION, IN NEED OF GOOGLE’S REFINING, THAT WOULD SOLVE AMERICA’S PROBLEMS…
WITH LESS THAN 1/2 A BILLION DOLLARS…every American, all 350 to 400 million of you, with a Social Security Number, could be given a ‘Smart Card or Device’ for ONE MILLION DOLLARS…It could be in GRANT form…There would be a few requirements that would have to be met as set forth in the GRANT AGREEMENT…Each American would be required to pay their creditors and mortgages off…They would have to purchase electric/hybrid vehicles and discard their old vehicles…Also they must add Solar and/or Wind Power to their homes and businesses…Businesses that are hurting the environment would have to close their doors…And new businesses would spring up, which would help implement all of the Environmentally Friendly Home Requirements.
These huge companies that have more money than they could ever use haven’t once thought about ever doing anything that would help an entire NATION and then the world…Rather than giving a mere fraction of their BILLIONS and BILLIONS to CHANGE the Land…They just keep adding more and more CHANGE to their own pockets…Pockets that are already sooooooo full…They’ll never use it all…They have the ability to make all the difference in the WORLD…Yet ‘THEY DO NOTHING’…
Our own government has the power to do this…Instead of spending billions and billions and billions of dollars to rebuild areas of natural disaster and on illegal wars…They could issue each of us here in the United States of America a ‘Smart Card or Device’ for a MILLION Dollars, with some requirements that we’d all be happy to follow…And it would only cost them $400 MILLION…Instead of the BILLIONS that they spend and spend and spend…We could all wipe out our OWN DEBTS…We could all improve the environment by complying with solar and wind powered regulations, which would be included in the ‘Conditions’ of receiving the GRANT ‘Smart Card or Device’…
Another condition of the GRANT would have to involve people continuing to work…With that much money…people wouldn’t want to work anymore…We would have to make sure that our economy continued to grow and flourish…
In order to solve the housing and poverty problems IMMEDIATELY…The homeless would be purchasing 5th wheel trailers, converted with Solar Panels, plus a truck to pull it that also is hybrid or solar powered…Or…they could live in any hotel they so choose while they wait for their home to be built, which will meet the conditions of the GRANT…
SHAME…SHAME…SHAME…on these ‘HUGE CORPORATIONS’ and SHAME on our ‘OWN GOVERNMENT’ for keeping the Citizens of the United States of America in poverty…The ‘So Called Leaders’, say they want to make things better…LIES…ALL LIES…Because ‘THEY’ have the power to do so right now…yet they are too busy lining their own pockets with money to even think about something so simple that would save the country & so easily…
I think it’s a CRIME that we, as an educated country, have not implemented such a program already…What is taking so long???…CORRUPTION???…ORGANIZED CRIME???…DISHONEST LEADERSHIP IN OUR GOVERNMENT???…INDIVIDUAL GREED???…ALL OF THE ABOVE???…
AND…What & how do ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ convince some very wealthy individual or group of individuals or a company or multiple companies or a corporation or several corporations, that HAVE BILLIONS OF $ DOLLARS $…That they need to SPREAD IT AROUND like MANURE & SUNSHINE…It’s just sitting around…And it could be SAVING ALL OF AMERICA’S PEOPLE…And they could do this with less than 1/2 A BILLION DOLLARS, A GOOD PLAN AND GOOD LEADERS…Someone needs to STEP UP TO THE PLATE…AND LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD…By issuing MILLION DOLLAR (Tax Free) GRANT ‘Smart Cards or Devices’ to every AMERICAN that has a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER…
If it is a child or disabled or otherwise incapable individual then the account would be held under the ‘Trust’ of their Legal Guardian or Legal Institution…
We’ll jointly save the COUNTRY starting with paying off our own debts and then by becoming ‘OIL FREE’…By working together as a NATION…We have the ability to become ENVIRONMENTALLY GREEN…This could all be done in a very short period of time…It would be so simple…With a ‘GRANT SMART CARD DEVICE’.
‘WE THE PEOPLE’ would be granted the money and in turn we will be agreeing to meet conditions to convert to Solar and/or Wind Power…Convert to Hybrids…Pay off our creditors…Pay off our mortgages…Etc… ‘WE THE PEOPLE’…would solve our own problems…Our rape of the environment would stop…Businesses would make money because people would have money to buy…We would lead the world in ENVIRONMENTALLY GREEN. DO YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN ?
By accepting the GRANT ‘Smart Card or Device’…Each individual would be agreeing to meet the ‘Conditions’ laid out in the GRANT’s ‘Smart Card’ program…
The ‘Smart Card’ would only work for it’s designated purposes.
For example:
Condition 1. Current Homeowners with Mortgages could pay them in full…
Condition 2. Foreclosed on Homeowners could re-claim their homes & fulfill all additional GRANT Conditions…
Condition 3. Convert your home to Solar and/or Wind Power…
Condition 4. Convert your vehicles to Electric/Hybrid
Condition 5. Pay off all creditors…
Condition 6. Continue to work at jobs…As long as it is environmentally conducive to our new plan…
Condition 7. Re-locate natural disaster victims…
Condition 8, etc…There are many other useful and intelligent provisions that could be built into these ‘Smart Cards’…
GOOGLE…You have the technology and intelligence and money to implement this program immediately…Please ‘BAIL OUT’ the Nation & there will be a World Domino effect…The People need to be GOOGLE EMPOWERED via ‘GRANT SMART CARD DEVICES’…

My Idea is the whole developed and developing countrys should take this action by taking the people whoom are well trained to fight against the terrorism and natural dessasters and keep them to fight in whole world they need by . I have a current patent on a security device that protects financial institutions from armed robbery. I have developed the next 2 generations of this device and would like to know where to submit my patent to Google for consideration. As the economy get’s worse, and people lose jobs, the crime rate will rise and banks and business that deal in cash will become targets for robbery. This device will capture the robber and detain him safely until the police arrive. Please see the attached link to the patent. United States Patent: 5,195,448
Remember I have the next 2 generations of this device. I have redesigned the device to be foolproof. Virtually unbeatable. The existing patent has been completely redesigned with a completely new hi tech operational system. I call it “T.R.A.P.S.”, Tactical, Robber, Apprehension, and Prevention, Systems. The commercial name is “Roboguard”.
How do I summit this idea to Google?

What would make a difference in America. Do more for our elders. There is a great need for better care in nursing homes. Possibly better pay and insurance packages for the help. Our elders deserve better respect from us and we will be there someday. Also Grants for people to start a small business. This would help out the economy and put some self-esteem back in America. We are so lost right now. I think a Grant would be like a shot of vitamin C. There would be alot of guidlines when they apply for the grant.

Another idea crossed my mind. INstead of giving one person 10 million why not give 10 people 1 million. I would love to have 10 million . But if I could help out other people why not. So why not share the 10 million. Have it so that who ever wins the 1 million would have to show that they have earned it. What I mean by that is before they get the million, give them $500,000.00 and have them show that they can help out the needy, homeless, foodbanks, hurricane victims, elderly, single parents. terminally ill people who are in need of assistance. If $500,000.00 is too high of a figure then come up with a better figure. I think that sharing the 10 million whould be better than giving it to one person.

Most American work so hard whole lives.
After retirement, we suppose to enjoy our lives more valuable, more hopeful, and more joyful. But the reality is not. They feel very lonely and useless.
My idea is how they use their daily hours with fun and joy.
Anybody could do simle work like baby-sitter or gardening work etc.
There are many retirement center and housing already, and home care for sick person too but not group living for healthy age 60 to 80 years old for middle or low incomed class citizen. Some of them are still able to work, but not welcomed in society much.
If we have a facility TO LIVE TOGETHER with chapel, library, exercise room, game room, bonus room, kitchen and some land for own vegetable yard,
they would not be lonly and will help community somehow.
For example for working mom, it is not easy to find a baby sitter and too expensive. Also it is very hard to be a baby -sitter alone.
But 10 grandmoms take care fo 10 babies…. will be easier and more fun.
If they grow vegetabe their own, it is very productive for themselves and neighbors.
If they have a chaple, they will be spiritually very rich.
Even they had children sacraficed for long time to raise them, they can not do as much as parent did. Because they have their own lives started again with their children.
My husband is a pastor (korean). Last 10 years we had served the church.
We faced so many problems and needs for old people.
1. They can not drive mostly.
2. They are very lonly. there is not much to do alone.
3. When they are getting sick, not easy to cook and eat.
No appetite if you eat alone.
4. Not easy to take medicine regulary by own.
5. Depressed and drink more alcohol.
6. State Budget is getting worse…..
If small community church is changed to this kind group ‘THE SENIOR LIVING CENTER”, our society will be heathier and happier.
But the problem is always money for this kind of facility. If it is stared and working well, it could have a branch by itself.
Money to be used wisely for His Glory.

Cnn reported two-thirds of our landfills are being filled up by construction debris. In viewing this report, watching them discard whole two by fours and sheets of plywood thinking to myself these materials could frame a small room. With that why not make all job sites recycle all reuseable material. By donating all reuseable material to disaster areas such as hurricanes, wild fires, mudslides,etc. relieving our government and tax payers of donating to disaster relief efforts. If we can get every state with every construction site to do this, allowing each state to come forth with materials collected to help rebuild communities. And with all unuseable material to be recycled instead of filling up our landfills.

My idea is to open a treatment center for people going through break ups and divorce. It would be a nurturing Hotel setting with therapists. They monitor your e-mail and phone usage so you can’t call the bastard. Lawyers and plastic surgeons will also be on hand to help erase the time you spent with your soon to be ex. It will be a safe environment to administer anti-anxiety medication so nobody attempts suicide

I would like to adopt the Idea of giving every American 18 and over approx. $425,000.. ofthis they would immediately pay 30% tax.Leaving a married couple with $595,000. spendable income. They would payoff their Mortgage, thus ending the Mortgage crisis. Then payoff their credit cards, thus ending the Credit crisis.Then they would proceed to purchase(possibly New Car,Electronics,Dry goods Etc.)Thus helping the economy.. This could all be done with the 87.5 Billion given to bail out AIG??Think how much could be done for every American with 700 Billion. Problem solved..

Pay the doctors & nurse’s and supply the mobile units.So that health care can be free for the self employed workers low income familys and individuals who make a little more then welfare would allow medicade for.The rest sould be spent on job training centers,free for those that make 30,000 or less. thank you for your concideration.
